day to day insurance

Do you need day to day insurance?

If you are looking to insure a car or van by the day, week or month then you have come to the right place. It is certainly NOT worth taking any risks when it comes to insurance cover. So, if day to day insurance is not something you have ever considered before but you now feel that you may well need, please have a look around our site to see whether there is something that we can do for you. Our site is unbiased with no particular affiliation with any particular insurer and is very much geared towards ensuring that you avoid driving without car insurance (which is obviously a criminal offence). A common misconception is that a comprehensive policy of insurance relating to one vehicle or driver will insure that person for another vehicle or another person for the same vehicle. This is not usually the case! Have a look at the kind of day to day insurance we can offer below.

When would you need day to day insurance?

This is a really good question and one which more people should be seriously considering. If you are intending to drive any vehicle whether it be a van, car or motor home - or intending to let someone else drive it - you may be in breach of the legal requirements of the Road Traffic Act 1988 if you do not ensure that you have appropriate and proper insurance (whether permanent or day insurance) in place for the person who is driving that particular vehicle. Perhaps you are borrowing a friend's motor home for a week's holiday? Or you are using a van for a few days? Maybe you need to drive a car that is not yours... or your relative or child needs to practise driving in your car in preparation for taking their test?

Whatever the position it is always worth stopping and thinking - "am I sure that the contract of insurance I originally took out covers me or anybody else who needs to drive the vehicle (and for the purpose they intend to drive it)?

The chances are that by coming to this site in the first place you think that you may need some day insurance cover, in which case please visit the appropriate page or click below to get a quote for insurance today.

Short Term Car Insurance.... Is it expensive?

The answer is that any car insurance is cheap if the end result is that you get to keep your licence and avoid a serious penalty! Unfortunately, after the event it is impossible to turn back the clock in order to make sure that you or the driver of your car were covered. Short term car insurance is far from being expensive though and is usually very affordable. If you shop around you will be able to get the right kind of cover at a relatively cheap price. When you pay for insurance on a basis that is day to day, insurance cover is obviously likely to be more expensive pro-rata than a permanent/long term policy. However, that doesn't mean that it is going to be 'expensive' as such.

Indeed, it is clear that if you go to a reputable company, the car insurance quote is likely to be fair and when obtaining a quotation, whether it be for 1 day, 2 day a week or any higher period of cover (note: any period of insurance can be defined as 'short term car insurance' if it is not permanent cover), the longer the period the more likely that the overall day to day insurance rate will be lower. It follows that if you know how long you need the vehicle insuring for it is better to be able to insure it for that full period of time rather than going back for short term cover on an 'ad hoc' basis. In short, you can keep your overheads to a minimum by planning well in advance.
